Born in 1950, he is married and has two daughters.

He received a Degree in Electronic Engineering at Milan Politecnico University in 1975 and a Master Degree in Advanced Technologies promoted by ENI afterwords.

In 1977 he started his work experience with Snam (Eni), holding several tasks like manager for strategic planning, project manager for joint development of Gazprom gas network, project manager of Monfalcone regasification Terminal and General Manager for market development in Italy.

In 1999 he became Senior Vice President for natural gas trading of Agip (Eni), and in 2001 he moved, as Managing Director and General Manager, to Plurigas, a supply company incorporated by three major Italian energy municipalities.

In 2006 he joined Edison as Director of Business Unit Gas Supply and Logistics, created for developing supply sources and managing all related contracts.

He is member of AIEE (Associazione Italiana Economisti di energia), of IEFE (Istituto di Economia delle Fonti di Energia – Bocconi) and of IEA (International Energy Association).
